Who is responsible
The controller of personal data collected through ventoriah.com is the editorial team behind the site. Data protection questions can be sent through the contact form.
What the form collects
The contact form asks for a name, an email address, a subject and a message, and records that the consent box was ticked. Nothing else is requested. Please do not send special category data or information about other people through it.
Why we may use it, and on what basis
Messages are used only to read and answer correspondence and to check and correct entries. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running an editorial service and answering the people who write to us, together with your consent where you have given it. Consent may be withdrawn at any time, which does not affect processing already carried out.
How long it is kept
Correspondence is kept for up to twenty-four months and then deleted. Where a message leads to a published correction, the editorial note of the change is kept without the sender's contact details.
Server logs
The hosting provider records technical data needed to deliver and secure the site: the requesting IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, the referrer and the browser identification. These logs are kept for a short period and used for security and troubleshooting, never to build a profile of a reader.
No tracking
This site runs no analytics of any kind. There are no tracking scripts, no advertising pixels, no social media embeds, no third-party cookies and no first-party cookies set for measurement. The site contains no JavaScript at all. Web fonts are requested from Google Fonts, which means that request reaches Google's servers; if you prefer to avoid it, the site remains fully readable with the fonts blocked.
Hosting and processors
The site is hosted by a contracted hosting provider acting as a processor. Messages sent through the contact form are handled by the editorial team. No other processor receives personal data, and nothing is sold, rented or shared for marketing.
International transfers
Where a processor stores or accesses data outside your country, the transfer is covered by standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard. Details are available on request through the contact form.
Your rights
You may ask for access to your data, for correction of it, for erasure, for restriction of processing, for portability of what you supplied, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Requests are answered within one month through the contact form. You may also complain to the supervisory authority for data protection where you live or work.
